Some Advice...
Invest in good lenses. Invest in educating yourself. Invest time in PRACTICE!!! Shoot, Shoot, Shoot!
When finding photo opportunities or jobs, try to shoot what you love. When you shoot what you love, your passion shows in the photos you capture.
It's easy to get caught up in the "equipment wars" feeling that you must always upgrade. Accepting that there will always be something bigger and better can save you a lot of headaches and money. Someone shooting what they love with a point-and-shoot camera will capture better photos than someone with with expensive equipment and no interest in what they're shooting. So when you're starting out, find a piece of equipment you can grow with and stick with it.
Equipment can and does make a difference in the right hands. However, there is no substitute for technique and passion for what you're shooting. It's what makes a good photo GREAT.
Finally, always remember that photography is a joy. If you're not enjoying it then something is wrong. Take a step back and refocus. |
